SciFi and Fantasy Art: Water creature

The style of this picture is inspired by Stephanie´s kind of curly design (credit, credit). It was a pain to draw, though (it takes such a long time)....

What a beautiful fantastic world. And what a lovely composition it forms. It is marvelous (literally) to see the creatures emerging from the shadow and light respectively rendered with less detail than their surroundings.

Wuhooo! Gorgeous! Beautiful! I have fallen in love with those COLORS! AARG now I have even WORSE spring eaver... maybe this year our trees will look like that. And the critter is cute, and there's nothing wrong with the anatomy.

i love it!.....But,(if you don’t mind me asking)what izzit meant to be?

:-) Dorothee Scholz replies: "It COULD be kind of a water nymph playing with her little "pet"- creature that she summoned magically... that´s what I meant to draw. But of course other interpretations work as well, I´m open to everything 12"

WOW!!! Can I say it again? WOW!!! You water color skills are fantasric! I think I know Who's style you talked about. She's brilliant and you did a nice job trying to render her style! Keep inspiring me!

This is beautiful! How on earth do you get the colours to do that - stay so separate in some places, yet so merged in others? It’s amazing.

:-) Dorothee Scholz replies: "It`s all a matter of how wet the paper is... the dryer the surface, the more separated the colors (and the other way around). The "layers" are done with very diluted colors, left drying before the next layer is added 2 There are a lot of possibilities with watercolors in fact, take the time to try them (it´s alot of fun) 2"

WOW! I really love the colors, and the curly style you did.

Yes, it kinda looks like her impressive work. But with your own style. I like it, but I like your other work better. I also like the unfinished touch of this.

Really wonderful. I’m an acrylic person trying to learn a bit of watercolour (you know...expanding medium uses blah blah). This makes me rethink it 10 Beautifully done.

:-) Dorothee Scholz replies: "Nooo ... try it 2 If you have questions, anytime! I´d love to see the result 12"
